Ah! My Goddess - A college student name Keiichi who accidently one day was watching his men only dorm calls this phone number by accident. The phone call turns out to be this service for the Relief Goddess Office. He was originally trying to call out for lunch. So he ends with a young, beautiful, and sweet Goddess name, Belldandy. Well anyways, he is one of the most luckiest guy. Later on, Belldandy's older and younger sister, Urd and Skuld later arrived in the OVA series. This is more magical drama with a little comedy and romance. A very enjoyable 5 episodes OVA series. This series is released thru AnimEigo. Pioneer have released the Ah! My Goddess Movie and the Super Deformed (SD) Ah My Goddess TV series.


Armitage III - The story of a female cyber-punk Martian cop in hot pants, with an attitude as deadly as her gun. She's a very special person. Her partner is from earth who hates humanoid robots. Can these two partners work together against a common enemy? This series was release as a 4 part OAV (Original Animated Video) series and a movie. This anime OAV and movie is now released under Pioneer.


Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon - The story of these 5 sailor soldiers which bring up to 14 sailor soldiers total later. Plus your light and shining amoror male hero by the name of Tuxedo Mask. It's your basic story of good vs. evil. This is mainly a little girl show, but I still enjoy this series even though I'm a guy. This show has action, romance, and comedy. This series has a total of 200 episodes plus 3 movies. The first 2 seasons of Sailor Moon have been released by DIC. Also, it is only available English dubbed and they have changed a lot from the original. The three Sailor Moon movies is out commercially released thru Pioneer. The three movies are subtitled. The 3rd (Sailor Moon Super) and 4th season (Sailor Moon SuperS) are also available commercially through Pioneer. In the year 2003, ADV Films got the rights for the first two seasons of Sailor Moon. You can get four out of five seasons right now on DVD. On the ADV Films version, they released a Japanese with English subtitled version on DVD.


Fushigi Yuugi   (Mysterious Play) - A schoolgirl, Miaka, and her friend, Yui, are sent into a mystical Chinese book. This young schoolgirl, Miaka, must become Suzaku No Miko of Konan Country. So basically it is a fight between the Konan Country and Kutou Country. This series a mixture of romance, action, drama, and comedy. One of my personal favorites I recommend everyone to watch. This series has 52 episodes plus 2 OVA specials. This is being released thru Pioneer. This is one of my top ten favorite anime of all time.


Golden Boy - His name is Kintaro Oe, age 25, withrdrew from Tokyo Law University Law School. However, he completed all graduation requirements before he withdrew. Ever since, he has taken up a variety of different occupations and is studying about life in general. This is a 6 episode OVA series. It is released commercially by A.D. Vision . It has a great ending theme song called, "Study a Go Go" by the Golden Girls. The subtitled and dubbed versions are both very good in my humble opinion.


Irresponsible Captain Tylor - This is about some guy who joins the Earth's military force and somehow defeats the enemy, sort of. Also, is this guy just lucky, just stupid, or just smart. This series has a lot of comedy in it. On a side note, there is a minor character name Jason who wears a white ski mask. Irresponsible Captain Tylor have been released commercially under Right Stuf International. This series has 26 episodes plus and OVA too. They have released a movie and an 8 episode OVA.


Kimagure Orange Road - This story is about this young guy named Kasuga Kyousuke, age 15, and his 2 younger sisters, Kasuga Minami and Kasuga Kurumi. The three of them have special powers called ESP. The real story is basically a soap opera between three people who are Kasuga Kyousuke, Ayukawa Madoka, and Hiyami Hikaru. Hikaru likes Kyousoke, but he likes Madoka or does he like both of them? You just have to see for yourself and find out. Is it just awesome for Kyousuke, have 2 women who like him and having ESP as some unique powers? This TV series, the OVAs, the first movie are released commercially by AnimEigo. The second movie is released comercially by A.D.Vision. This is one my favorite romantic/drama series of all time.


Kodomo no Omocha   (Child's Toy) - This is the story of this young girl name Sana who is 11 years old, a 6th grader, and a child actress in Japan. There is really no deep storyline in this series but mainly subplots. It's purely comedy with an aside of drama once in a while. The other important characters in the series are Sana's mother who won the Aoki Award and has a squirrel living on top of her head. Next his Rei, Sana's driver, manager, and the only male living in Sana's house. Finally, Hayama Akito is the young boy who goes to the same school with Sana. Hayama also comes from a weird and strange family. Sana considers Hayama at times either her enemy or close friend. Its an enjoyable series to watch for a good laugh and a good time. This series is only available thru fansubs.


Love Hina - This is a series about a young man named, Keitaro Urashima, who is 20 years old and trying to get accepted to Tokyo University. However, he has failed at least 2 times so far to get into school. Now, he has a different type of responsiblity while still trying to get accepted to Tokyo University. Since his grandma has decided to leave for an extended vacation. So now Keitaro must become manager of this female residency place. So now we are later introduced to the rest of the gang. They are Shinobu Maehara, Kaolla Su, Motoko Aoyama, Mitsune Konno, and Naru Narusegawa. Its a very fun and enjoyable series. There is a total of 24 episodes and available commercially by Bandai Entertainment. However, the 2 TV specials and omake stuff is still only available through fansubs.


Macross Plus - This story centers around 3 people who grew up together but later separate to other careers and opportunities. The reunion is not a pleasant one. There are some great computer graphics in this anime with the mechas or advanced airplanes. Some great actions scenes too. This series was release as a 4 part OVA series and a movie. Macross Plus was released after the completion of Macross 7. One of the continuing storyline of the Macross Universe. This anime is now released commercially under Manga Entertainment. This is one of my top ten favorite anime of all time.


Magic Knight Rayearth - This is a story of three girls who are transported into another planet. The three must save this planet from the princess of this new planet from an evil entity. The three girls are given powers that represent fire, water, and wind. Also, this is another magical girl's show with three individual mechas. There is a total of 49 episodes and also been a 3 episodes OVA released too for this series. This series is out commercially by Anime Works.The OVAs are released commercially by Manga Entertainment.


Martian Successor Nadesico - Its the story of this privately owned and powerful spaceship called Nergal. The Earth's military cannot stop these aliens from Jupiter who attacked Mars earlier. The Earth's military wants that ship, Nergal, for themselves. This is a great series because it is pretty funny at first then the series starts to get a bit more serious but still leaves some comedy in it. This series has a total of 26 episodes plus a movie to clear some things the series left hanging around. A.D. Vision has recently required the rights to this series and the movie called Nadesico: Prince of Darkness.


Neon Genesis Evangelion - The story of 3 young fourteen kids, one guy and two girls who run these mechas call EVAs. They are trying to save the human race with 3 mecha looking robots. So basically, they are trying to save Earth from the scum of the universe, no, I'm not talking about Men in Black. Are these robots that these young children are using alive? This anime series is much darker than shows like X-Files and Millenium in the United States. This 26 episodes TV series is now released commercially under A.D. Vision. The 4 Evangelion movies are called Death, Rebirth, Air/Love Is Destruction, and I Need You will be commercially released by Manga Entertainment.


New Mobile Suit Chronicle Gundam Wing - This is another story in the continuation of the Gundam Universe. The show is set in the AFTER COLONY YEAR 195. The storyline is set in an alternate reality of the previous Gundam series, OVAs, and movies. The show has 5 Gundam pilots who are trying to defeat this evil organization called OZ. All the Gundam pilots are teenagers. So its your basic plot of colonies in space versus earth with some plot twists too. This series has a total of 49 episodes plus a 3 episode OVA called Endless Waltz. In addition, there is also a GW: Endless Waltz movie. This series and OVAs is available commercially thru AnimeVillage.com. On a side note, this series can be seen currently on Cartoon Network, but you can only watch it English dubbed.


Record of Lodoss War - This anime is rather similar to the popular roleplaying games (RPGs) of Dungeon and Dragons. The main characters in this storyline include a knight, a elf, a dwarf, a sorceror, a cleric, and a thief. The story is based on the island of Lodoss where different factions want to conquer the land or set up borders between countries. U.S. Manga Corps has released this 13 episode OVAs. I do NOT recommend to watch the entire 13 episode OVAs in one day. Just take my word on it. Central Park Media has released the TV series of Lodoss War entitled Record of Lodoss War: Chronicles of the Heroic Knight.


Saber Marionette J - After a spaceship crash, only six male survivors are stranded on this planet. 300 years later, there is a civilization growing and thriving in which there is a world of clone men from the 6 survivors and women robots called marionettes. Then one day a guy name Otaru discovers 3 special marionettes. The three marionette names are Lime, Cherry, and Bloodberry. At first, this series turns out to be more comedy and action, but later unfold in a serious and dramatic series near the end. This series is released by AnimeVillage.Com. I highly recommend any anime fans to check out this series. It will be worth your money to buy the commercial tapes for this series. Also, they made a 6 episode OVAs special. They just recently made a second TV series called Saber Marionette J to X.


Shin Tenchi Muyo! a.k.a. Tenchi in Tokyo - Of all the Tenchi series, OVAs, and movies, I've seen despite the fact I have only seen the first 2 Tenchi movies and various episodes out of order. I have to say this my favorite Tenchi series overall. This series shows Tenchi going to go school in Tokyo while leaving behind the gang at home. He decides to go to Tokyo because Tenchi's grandfather ask him to do a favor because the grandfather is in debt for an old friend in Tokyo. So Tenchi decides to continue his work as a monk/apprentice for this guy in Japan. Also, Tenchi meets this new girl named Mayuka in Tokyo who he starts to like. Ryoko and Ayeka are really mad about this situation. Anyways, I'll just let you use your imagination to see what happens in this series. This series was released thru Pioneer. It has a total of 26 episodes.


To Heart - This series is about the lives of these 2 people in high school and their friends. They are Hiroyuki Fujita (male) and Akari Kamigishi (female). They have been friends since childhood. The other semi-main characters are Shiho Nagaoka, and Masashi Satou. Shiho Nagaoka is the girl with all the information about the entire student body. In addition, the gang meets new people who are Aoi Matsubara, Ayaka Kurusugawa, Tomoko Hoshina, Kotone Himekawa, Multi Hmx-12, Remmy Miyauchi, Serika Kurusugawa, HMX-13 "Serio", Rio Hinayama, and Yoshie Sakoshita. Its a fun and enjoyable drama series. In case you are wondering, all the supporting characters except Masashi Satou are females. This is a series both male and females will likely to enjoy. Its only available through fansubs and has a total of 13 episodes.


Vision of Escaflowne - A school girl from Earth is transported to another planet where she helped a young king and a young handsome knight. She uses her tarot cards and magical pendant to help both men. The main characters in this series are Hitomi, Van Fanel, and Allen Schezar. This series is a magical show with mecha in another world. This series has 26 episodes. This series is released commercially by Anime Village.com. There have been a movie for Escaflowne however the movie is totally on its own and does not relate to the TV series. The movie is a separate entity. The movie is released commercially by Bandai Entertainment.


You're Under Arrest - This was first released only as an OVA series. But they made a TV series out it. Plus in Japan, they just released a movie in April 1999. It has a total of 51 episodes. The TV series started with episode 5 since the OVA were the first four episodes. The story about this seires is about these 2 female cops in Japan. They both have different personalities and must learn to work together. The names of these 2 female cops are Miyuki and Natsumi. This show has a great supporting cast too. The 4 episode OVAs were released by AnimEigo. The TV series are only available thru AnimEigo. In addition, they made a TV mini- episodes series which are about 8 minutes called You're Under Arrest Special and the You're Under Arrest The Movie released commercially by ADV Films.
